Your data rights

Your information belongs to you

Mizani UK Limited ("Mizani") keeps your group's records safe. We never hold your money — your money stays with your group. The information about you is yours. The law in the United Kingdom (UK GDPR) and the law in your own country give you rights over it. We are here to help you use those rights.

What you can ask us to do

• See a copy of the information we hold about you.
• Fix something that is wrong or out of date.
• Delete your information.
• Stop sending you messages.
• Limit how we use your information, or say you do not want it used.
• Take your information and move it somewhere else.

How to ask

Send an email to privacy@mizaniapp.com. Tell us what you want and which group you are in. To keep your data safe, we may check that you are really you before we act. We reply within about one month, and it is free.

If your information is kept for your group

Some of your information is kept because you are part of a savings group. The group's leaders control the group's records. So if your request is about those records, we may need to pass it to your group's leaders and work together with them. You can read more in our Privacy Notice.

If you're not happy

If you are not happy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the data-protection authority in your country:

• United Kingdom: Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
• Uganda: Personal Data Protection Office (PDPO), under NITA-U
• Kenya: Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC)
• Rwanda: National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA)
