Delete your account

How to ask us to delete your account

Send an email to privacy@mizaniapp.com from the address on your account, or with the phone number on your account, and say you want your account deleted. To keep your data safe, we may check that you are really you before we act. We reply within about one month, and it is free.

If you still have the app, you can also open Profile → Delete account, which brings you to this page.

What we delete

When we act on your request, we delete or anonymise the personal information that identifies you, including:

• Your name, phone number, email and other contact details.
• Your sign-in credentials, so you can no longer log in.
• Your personal profile — date of birth, income and demographic details.
• Your personal savings, assets and net-worth records held only for you.
• Messages and notification preferences linked to you.

What we may need to keep, and for how long

Some information cannot be deleted straight away because a savings group you belong to needs it, or because the law requires us to keep it:

• Group records. If you are part of a savings group, some of your contributions and transactions belong to that group's shared records. The group's leaders control those records. Where we can, we remove your personal details from them; where the group still needs the entry, we keep it but disconnect it from your identity.
• Legal and financial records. Where the law requires us to keep certain records (for example, anti-money-laundering or accounting rules), we keep the minimum needed for the required period, then delete it.
• Backups. Deleted data can remain in secure backups for a short period before those backups are cycled out, after which it is gone.
